Wall falls on six-year old; machine operator flees the scene.
A six-year-old boy was killed after a wall being demolished fell on him near Subbaiahnapalya burial ground in Banaswadi around Monday noon. He was being brought up by his aunt Saroja after his parents died six years ago.
The boy was walking to a shop to buy household items when the wall of the compound being demolished by a JCB crashed onto him, killing him on the spot.
The site had been under dispute. The owner Jagannath summoned the earthmover to demolish the compound wall and a small house on it. The JCB operator didn’t notice the child passing by and pushed the wall onto him.
Onlookers rushed the boy to a nearby hospital but doctors declared him dead on arrival, an eyewitness said.
The JCB operator fled the spot.
