As lawsuit rumbles on, new contractor steps up the pace.
The demolition of the Joplin High School is set to be complete within the next 45 days. That’s just one of the many projects approved at the latest school board meeting.
The board approved to accept a bid from Gator Demolition for about 644-thousand dollars to complete demolition on the high school. This company also worked on the demolition of Franklin Technology Center.
Last fall the school district chose Urban Metropolitan Development to do the demolition of the high school. Later the school canceled it’s contract which in turn led to a lawsuit against the district.
The company is asking for more than $2 million in damages.
