New division formed to tackle aircraft dismantling.
DDS Demolition has announced the formation of a new specialist company within the 1948 group, dedicated to the decomissioning and dismantling of end-of-life aircraft.
The Environment Agency recently introduced new legislation, which required a permit be issued for companies wishing to dismantle aircraft. Having experience in this industry, DDS applied for the Permit under a newly established sister company, Aircraft Salvage & Disposal (ASD), and is the first company within the UK to receive the a permit
ASD has been working closely with EA on its first deployment (the dismantling of a McDonald Douglas DC10), to refine and improve our proposed systems of work and give them a fuller understanding of the depolluting and dismantling process.
The aircraft was successfully depolluted and dismantled on location at Manston International Airport.
