Video – BREN Tower demolition sets world record…

Cold War relic enters record books.

A world record was set yesterday at the Nevada National Security Site when a 485 metre (1,527 foot) steel tower used in above ground nuclear experiments in the 1960’s was brought down in a planned demolition.

The Bare Reactor Experiment or Nevada BREN tower was the tallest structure of its kind ever to be demolished. Taller than the empire state building, taller than the stratosphere in Las Vegas, the tower was brought down due to safety concerns and risk to aircraft flying in the area.
