10 operators the first in Northern Ireland to earn full CPCS Competency Cards and NVQ certification for Demolition Plant.
A presentation evening was held recently for 10 demolition plant operators employed by companies from the Northern Ireland Demolition Association (NIDA) who are the first to achieve full CPCS Competency Cards and NVQ certification for Demolition Plant in the region.
A rigorous programme of NVQ on-site assessment and CPCS Technical Testing was carried out by Practical Consulting Limited/Specialist Services enabling these companies to prove specific competence in their workforce.
IDE member Duncan Rudall, who was one of the training and assessment team, stated that the operators demonstrated excellent skills and knowledge throughout the assessment process which also included additional training and assessment for Quick Hitch Demolition attachments and Cat/Genny detection in a Demolition environment.
The project was supported by CITB Northern Ireland as part of an initiative with the specialist skills employers.
