35 hours to drop seven storey Rotherham landmark.
Crinoline House – a seven storey building, which used to house Rotherham Borough Council’s Social Services department – has been demolished.
Specialist teams were drafted in to bring down the eighty feet high, concrete reinforced structure. The work required the closure of both lanes of Centenary Way, so the crew had just 35 hours to bring down pull down the landmark structure.
The demolition work began at 7pm on Saturday and continue around the clock to ensure the road could re-open at 6am on Monday morning.
