DemolitionNews joins celebrations for contractor’s 50th birthday with exclusive interview.
In March 2012 London-based Clifford Devlin celebrates its 50th Anniversary. The firm has been a fixture of the capital’s demolition industry since 1962 when Peter Clifford and Alphonsus (“Foncie”) Devlin established the business in North London.
During its 50 years, the company has endured numerous fluctuations in demand and two various periods of recession. But the company’s location in East London has also put it at the heart of two of the UK capital’s largest developments: the regeneration of London’s Docklands in the 1980s; and, more recently, preparations for this year’s London 2012 Olympic Games.
DemolitionNews took the opportunity to catch up with Clifford Devlin managing director Tim Clifford in an exclusive video interview that covers the company’s history and evolution but also delves into the company of today.
