Footage from world’s largest demolition project shows scant regard for health and safety.
Like fishermen’s tales of sea monsters and murderous hayens, for the past few years DemolitionNews has heard tale of a huge demolition project – purportedly the largest in the world – taking place behind a cloak of secrecy in the holy city of Mecca.
With entry to the city restricted only to those of the Muslim faith, talk of the scale of the project has been based largely upon supposition and guesswork.
But a video has emerged which, while not portraying the magnitude of the project, offers another explanation for the veil of secrecy surrounding the project: the need to keep health and safety officials at bay.
If you fast forward to the 3:55 mark, you can see the only thing standing between passing cars and a collapsing building is a strategically-parked bus, and a strong belief in Allah.
