Exclusive Video – You MUST see this…

Spectacular video of explosive demolition of former Ariane 4 launch pad in French Guyana.

Here’s a video that ticks just about all the boyhood dream boxes, combining space exploration and explosive demolition.

Our friend and former European Demolition Association president Yves Canessa just sent us some truly remarkable footage capturing – in spectacular style – the explosive demolition of part of ELA-2, the former Ariane 4 launch complex in Koukou in French Guyana. We have added some music to it although, frankly, the pictures speak for themselves.

Canessa’s DSD Demolition are demolishing the Guyana Space Center’s ELA-2 launch site as the spaceport undergoes a modernisation.

ELA-2, which stands for Ensemble de Lancement Ariane-2, was the home of the Ariane 4 rocket from 1988 until it was retired in 2003. ELA-2 was also the site of several launches of the preceding Ariane 2 and Ariane 3 vehicles in the 1980s.
