Demolition of bin Laden compound nears completion.
Almost a year after US Special Forces raided the Abbottabad hideout of Osama bin Laden, killing the terrorist leader, demolition crews have almost leveled the compound in a contract that most Western contractors would have happily tackled free of charge.
The compound is being destroyed in part to prevent the area become a martyr’s shrine and, we suspect, partly to eradicate the last vestiges of a man behind the worst terrorist atrocity ever visited upon US soil.
