Emergency demolition works commence at quake-damaged New Zealand apartment complex.
The Terrace on the Park apartment complex is undergoing emergency demolition, the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority says.
The apartments were put on the demolition list this month, after engineering checks revealed that two of the six buildings in the complex had critical structural damage from the December 23 aftershocks.
Demolition of the critically damaged apartment blocks is set to start today and is expected to take about a week.
