School featured in Hugh Grant movie could fall in £22 million academy development.

A school hall used for the nativity play scene in Love Actually is threatened with demolition.

In the film, the characters played by Hugh Grant and Martine McCutcheon are caught kissing backstage when a curtain is raised. But the curtain is set to come down on the hall and other school buildings.

Wandsworth council wants to transform the Elliott School in Putney into a £22 million academy.

Among the school’s alumni are the founding members of electro band Hot Chip, Alexis Taylor and Joe Goddard, and James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan.
