Demolition worker suffers broken arm in accident during General Chemicals plant demolition.
The Ontario Ministry of Labor is continuing to investigate an industrial accident that occurred at the former General Chemical plant last Wednesday afternoon.
Amherstburg police were called to the site around 3:30 p.m. and held the scene until Ministry of Labor officials arrived on scene. The investigation continued Thursday with an inspector and engineer from the ministry on site.
“A worker employed by Priestly Demolition was on an elevated walkway and the walkway collapsed,” said ministry spokesman Matt Blajer. “The worker was transported to Hotel Dieu Hospital with multiple injuries.”
Blajer added that an order was given not to disturb the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
