Our exclusive story of Ad Swanink’s untimely death in an accident involving the world’s largest (and probably best-known) high reach excavator) still makes for difficult reading and marks in time a split second in which the industry lost an irreplaceable pioneer, an unique engineering feat, and a great deal of its innocence.
We sincerely hope that we never have to write a story quite like this ever again.
