Wrecking ball meets football…

Latest stage of Amon G. Carter stadium construction calls on wrecking ball.

The next phase of construction at TCU’s Amon G. Carter stadium got underway yesterday.

Unlike last year’s implosion of the western stands, crews this morning used a wrecking ball to take down the upper section of seats which were put up in the 1950’s.

Throughout day small groups of TCU alums and neighbors stopped by to see a part of history be torn down.

The stadium is scheduled to be completed for the first football game in September 2012.
