Hotel Chelsea crew in violent altercation…

Video captures demolition crew assaulting hotel tenant.

According to reports on the Gothamist website, the following video shows a tenant of New York’s Hotel Chelsea being assaulted by a non-unionised demolition crew.

The report says: “The tenant in the video, Arthur Nash, was filming the ongoing destruction of the Hotel when he was assaulted by the demolition crew. Also significant is that Arthur was showing Union reps around the building (the crew is non-union). About a dozen demolition crew members waited outside the Hotel for Nash, and when he emerged from the Hotel, they chased him down 23rd Street to 7th Avenue where they assaulted him again.”

The NYPD has confirmed that Nash was allegedly attacked after taking photos of the non-unionized contractors, and that a criminal complaint had been filed with the 10th Precinct. The incident is under investigation, but no arrests have been made as of yet.
