Long-awaited demolition begins at Regina hotel ahead of Hilton development.
After months of delays the iconic Plains Hotel in Regina is coming down. The demolition comes more than two years after a hotel-condominium project was announced to replace it. The hotel was expected to come down earlier this year, but encountered asbestos issues. But demolition crews started to tear down the building yesterday morning.
A 10-storey Hilton hotel and 26-floor condo complex, which will be the highest building in the city will go up in its place.
