It’s ways nice to finish the week with a spot of unexpected but welcome news. So we were delighted to have received this gem from Robyn Rushforth at Precision Demolition Company Ltd just as we started to wind down for the weekend.
“This week saw the demolition of the final structure on the Island site at the former Hickson and Welsh site at Castleford. This is the first of four explosive demolitions to be carried out by Precision Demolition Company ltd (PDC) for the main contractors, Wooldridge Demolition who have been contracted by the site owners, Aternum to clear the whole of the 74 hectare (180 acre) site,” Rushforth says. “The remaining demolition work will be carried out in phases over the coming months as the plants on each area of the site are cleaned and electrically isolated.”
