Litany of industry accidents continues.
A 27-year-old man suffered “deep lacerations” on his upper arms and chest when the metal-cutting saw blade he was using kicked back, the Ottawa Citizen reports.
Paramedics said the man was working at a building demolition site on Booth Street near the Chaudière Bridge. He was taken to hospital, where he was in serious condition.
The Ontario Ministry of Labour sent two employees to the 62 Booth St. to investigate, said ministry spokesman Matt Blajer. They will determine whether the employee had the right training to operate the equipment.
