Demolition & Salvage heads for hospital…

Local contractor wins Portsmouth demolition works.

Demolition & Salvage Ltd has announced that it has been awarded the 48-week contract to demolish the redundant sections of St. Mary’s Hospital, Portsmouth.

Following a competitive tender process the company was subject to interview and further assessments. The company reports that it scored “a remarkable 100%” when judged against cost, presentation, Health & Safety and quality benchmarks.

Recycling on site of materials arising from the works is key and the client, Portsmouth Hospitals Trust is keen to make the most of this unique opportunity. The company will be implementing a comprehensive site waste management plan and using state of the art recycling equipment to meet recycling targets.

Work is starting now to prepare the site with security and welfare facilities being installed. As part of our management package for the works we will be launching a dedicated website covering news from the site and charting the progress of the contract.
