Official statement from liquidators sheds light on Border Demolition demise.
Yesterday, we exclusively revealed that Kilsyth-based Border Demolition had called in the liquidators. Today, those liquidators have issued the following statement:
The company ceased trading at the end of September 2011 and 13 employees were made redundant by the company at that time.
Annette Menzies of French Duncan was appointed Provisional Liquidation of the company on 07 October 2011 by the Sheriff at Airdrie following a petition dated 05 October 2011, presented by the director of the company. A winding up order was issued on 28 October 2011 by the Sheriff at Airdrie appointing Annette Menzies as Interim Liquidator.
The director has explained that the company’s turnover halved in 2008/2009 as a result of the general downturn caused by the recession. This situation was compounded by the increases in the cost of fuel, VAT and expenditure in general.
