Rare footage of demolition of New York’s Star Theatre shot in 1901
Here at Demolition News Towers, we love a spot of nostalgia. But even by our backward-gazing standards, the following video takes some beating.
Shot in 1901, it shows the “building” (demolition in reverse, hence the backward walking horse) and subsequent demolition of New York’s Star Theatre.
Despite the lack of mechanical equipment and explosives, the film suggests that the theatre was disassembled in a spec of just 30 days.
