Wall falls, taking down power lines and damaging neighbouring homes.
Dozens of homes were left without power in the Highlands district of Louisville after a demolition “mishap” knocked down power lines and even damaged homes.
The demolition was scheduled on a building at Stevens and Quadrant Wednesday afternoon, when around 4 p.m., neighbors say one wall came down the wrong way.
“Apparently the construction workers were running away because the bricks were coming down,” homeowner Tony Zelli says.
Tony Zelli lives across the street and says those bricks then snagged a power line and pulled over a pole.
“Something went wrong with the demolition and part of the building came away from where it wasn’t supposed to . It hit the power line and pulled the pole down,” Zelli says. And that led to lines being ripped down from Zelli’s home and two others, damaging the houses.
