Site clearance due to start as demolition works come to an end.
Denney Excavating has finished the demolition of the former Winona Memorial Hospital on the Near Northside, city officials said in a news release Monday.
Work began Oct. 10 and was completed Friday, according to the news release. Basement removal and site clearing and grading are expected to be completed by mid-December.
The hospital closed in 2004 after its operator, Leland Medical Centers of Plano, Texas, went into bankruptcy. Four years later, a court-appointed bankruptcy trustee abandoned the property.
