Developer wants to demolish former Carlisle Tire and Wheel plant for a medical arts facility
A New Jersey-based developer intends to acquire the former Carlisle Tire and Wheel plant in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
RE Invest Solutions, of Robbinsville, has an agreement with owner Carlisle Companies Inc. to buy the plant and expects to close on the property in November, said Brad Maurer, general counsel for RE Invest Solutions.
Maurer said RE Invest plans to re-develop part of the 10-acre site as a medical arts facility that would house about 10 different medical practices. RE Invest would sell this part of the parcel to another developer that specializes in building medical arts facilities.
Other uses contemplated for the rest of the site include a pharmacy, additional retail and perhaps some residential development.
The project would be multi-phased and likely take place over several years, as the former plant covers an entire block.
