Beautiful video pays fitting tribute to century-old mill building.
A few weeks back, we brought you an exclusive but raw video of the Fernbank Mill chimney being felled. But we have just received this fabulous video which gives a far greater insight, not only into how the demolition was carried out “Fred Dibnah-style” but also into the history of the chimney and the mill it served.
By comparison, the demolition methods may seem somewhat primitive by today’s more high tech standards. But, in some ways, the technique is in keeping with the end of a 100-year old structure:
