Explanation for the removal of an incorrect story.
Sharp-eyed readers might have spotted a story on these pages last night relating to Mark and Douglas Loizeaux of Controlled Demolition Inc.
Our news reader system somehow picked up this story late yesterday afternoon but failed to recognise that (a) the story was more than 11 years old and (b) that the Loizeaux brothers had been fully acquitted by a jury that took less than 45 minutes to reach it decision.
We have, therefore, removed the offending article and apologise unreservedly for dredging up this old story, and for any embarrassment we might have caused the Loizeaux family.
Furthermore, we would like to acknowledge the polite and business-like way in which this mistake was brought to our attention.
