Scottish contractor pulls down large steel building at Lanarkshire steel plate works.
Leading Scottish contractor Safedem has demonstrated that there’s more to its skill set than high profile demolition by resorting to a slightly more low-key approach in its felling of a building in Mossend, Lanarkshire.
This video – shot by Brian Smillie, one of the company’s senior managers – shows how preparation of the steel columns with sit cuts to create a double hinge can control a large portion of steel shed safely down to ground for processing, with no ‘kick back’ to the remaining portion of structure.
