Four workers killed, 23 injured in major demolition collapse in Pakistan.
As many as four labourers died and 23 were injured during the demolition of a five-storey building in Johar Town, Lahore on Friday.
The building is being demolished by the Lahore Development Authority (LDA). Around 40, reportedly unskilled, labourers were hired to bring down the building located in Board of Revenue Cooperative Housing Society Johar Town Sector E.
Many of them were in the building’s basement when the building suddenly caved in. As a result, four labourers, yet to be identified, crushed under the debris, while around 23 labourers were injured. The injured were rushed to the Jinnah Hospital.
