Belgian customer will be first recipient of Japanese-built Hitachi 870-3 high reach.
Like its big brother the Hitachi EX1200, the Hitachi ZX 870-3 HRD is no stranger to European demolition sites where it has been regularly used as the base machine for some additional modifications.
But, according to our friends over at High Reach Demolition, a new factory-supplied ZX 870-3 is about to go to work in Belgium. With an anticipated working height of 40 metres, it is certainly no match for the 50 metre modification carried out to such a machine by Kocurek Excavators.
But, coming less than six months after the Japanese tsunami threatened to undermine Hitachi’s excavator production and export activities, the arrival of the machine should be welcomed by demolition equipment enthusiasts and buyers alike.
