Heating plant implosion fails to fell building.
It was billed as the biggest implosion in the state of Maine (although that’s like boasting of being the most famous rock singer in Iceland). But, in the end, it was an implosion that went with a whimper, and not the bang that everyone expected. In fact, despite claiming to have placed more explosives that usual because of the presence of heavy steel beams, the implosion of the heating plant at the Loring Air Force Base barely blew the building’s skin off.
