Slow motion video captures artistry in an implosion well done.
News reports on implosions generally dwell on two key subjects: the amount of “dynamite” used; and the time it will take for an imploded building to actually fall (they seem blissfully unaware of the weeks or months of preparatory work that goes into a well-executed blast).
But why the hurry? As this video from Sunday’s four-block blast by Safedem in Dundee illustrates beautifully, there is a certain, almost balletic grace to an implosion.
