GM plant sold for scrap…

NADC bags 68,000 square metre Pontiac plant.

A former General Motors Corp. plant on the north side of Pontiac has been sold to a Lapeer firm for scrap.

The RacrTrust, announced Monday, it had sold the property to Plant 25 LLC, an entity created for the purchase by North American Dismantling Corp., a Lapeer, Mich.-based firm specializing in dismantling large former industrial sites. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

The Pontiac property, known as Plant 25, is an approximately 68,000 square metre (730,000-square-foot) facility on E. Columbia Avenue that had served as a chassis parts and machining plant.

NADC is a leader in dismantling services nationwide, and has completed more than $90 million worth of demolition and environmental remediation work in the last five years alone on property owned by General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, Eli Lilly, Bayer Chemical and others.
