Training specialist to take high reach training to Northern Ireland Demolition Association.
Practical Consulting Limited, a training and assessment organisation along with its CPCS testing division Specialist Services, has secured a contract to deliver Demolition Plant NVQs and CPCS Competence Cards to a selected group of operators representing companies that form part of the Northern Ireland Demolition Association. The project is supported by CITB-ConstructionSkills NI.
The experienced demolition plant operators will undergo CPCS Technical Testing on Demolition Excavator rigs from 15 metres upwards. This will be followed by rigorous assessment for the NVQ award by professional discussion, observation of normal work and underpinning knowledge all measured against national standards, work method statements and risk assessments.
In addition to Awarding Body certification, the operators are to undertake training courses in Quick Hitch for demolition attachments and locating and avoiding underground services in a demolition context.
Practical Consulting Limited has been delivering plant training and testing and NVQ awards for 11 years. They have added to their provision by creating Specialist Services as a CPCS Test Centre this year. Further development has been to add international accreditation centre status to enable their activities to be delivered to a further raft of candidates requiring these important certificates and qualifications.
In the short period of accreditation with CPCS, Specialist Services has completed Demolition Plant testing for candidates from major Demolition Contractors. This testing is carried out during live demolition working by IDE Member Duncan Rudall, giving additional quality to the CPCS standard.
