Uncertainty prompts contractor to work elsewhere.
Demolition at the Evansville Executive Inn site has been put on hold so workers could attend to other projects, Klenck Co. officials have said.
Nicholas Funke, Klenck director of marketing and business development, said redirection of Klenck manpower and equipment was made because of the uncertainty of what company would develop the new $30 million hotel.
“We decided we had other jobs that were more time-consuming, so we rededicated our resources in other places,” Funke said.
During a July 6 meeting, the Evansville Redevelopment Commission unanimously voted to the terminate a contract with Woodruff Hospitality to build a replacement for the Executive Inn.
