The Buncefield fire was a major conflagration caused by a series of explosions on 11 December 2005 at the Hertfordshire Oil Storage Terminal,[1] an oil storage facility located near the M1 motorway by Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire, England. The terminal was the fifth largest oil-products storage depot in the United Kingdom, with a capacity of almost 300 million litres (60,000,000 gallons) of fuel.
For the past few years, demolition contractor J. Bryan (Victoria) Ltd has been responsible for the subsequent demolition process. Now, as the contract draws to a close, the company is in the final recycling phase, and is using a range of equipment from Dig A Crusher to help process and segregate the waste materials including concrete and steel:
