Scrap handler falls at scrap yard of UK demolition contractor.
DemolitionNews has received an exclusive photograph that captures the immediate aftermath of a scrap handler falling over at the scrap yard premises of demolition contractor and scrap metal specialist S. Evans & Sons Ltd in Widnes. No details of any injuries is available at this time.
The incident occurred at the company’s 1.4 hectare scrap metal processing facility dubbed Metal Mountain by local residents.
The facility itself has been the subject of severe criticism from local residents alarmed at the growth of the scrap metal heap that, they say, is an eyesore.
However, in a 2009 Runcorn & Widnes Weekly News report, proprietor Sam Evans remained unrepentant, claiming that residents complaining about the scrap heap “had nothing better to do”.
