The demolition method is yet to be decided but arisings from Big E look bound for landfill.
It is a soap opera-style saga that is keeping with its close links to the world of TV and media. But even before a demolition method has been selected, the West Louisville landfill is bracing itself for an influx of 65,000 cubic metres (85,000 cubic yards) of waste from Owensboro’s Executive Inn.
Landfill officials say once the waste comes to this area of the landfill, the space specified for construction waste will be completely full. The county will have to create a new space costing roughly one million dollars, and they will have to bring in extra equipment.
Quite why so little of the debris is to be reused is not explained in the Tristate article and video here. We can only assume that effective recycling does not make interesting television.
